The MOVE Team

Who We Are...

Dr. Shane McCormack

Chiropractor & Owner

Dr. Shane McCormack has maintained a Chiropractic practice in Northwestern Ontario since 2002.  His patient centred approach emphasizes the role of soft tissue in pain syndromes.  He is a strong advocate of a multidisciplinary approach. He believes that the goal of passive therapies should always bring patients to the point where they can become more independent in their care, via exercise and active healthy living.

In addition to private practice at MOVE Therapy, he is an Advanced Practice Clinician with the Rapid Access Clinic at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, in the Low Back Pain and Spine assessment programs.

Dr. McCormack enjoys being active and outside time with his family during his time off.

Brian Rosina

Physiotherapist & Owner

Brian has been working as a Physiotherapist in Thunder Bay since 2003, providing personalized care to patients with various orthopaedic ailments.  He has completed several post-graduate courses incorporating various manual therapy techniques and functional strength training concepts.

Brian looks forward to providing movement based treatment and a rehabilitative approach to your care with the goal of returning you back to your previous physical prowess and beyond.

His primary areas of interest are the rehabilitation of sports injuries, correction of running technique errors and the restoration of normal functional strength movement patterns.  Brian has a good working knowledge of CrossFit concepts, methodology and partakes in the sport of fitness regularly.

Dr. Sydney Lopez

Chiropractor

Dr. Lopez was born and raised in Thunder Bay.  At a young age, she participated in sports and experienced Chiropractic care for the first time.  She began exploring career paths that encompassed both sports and chiropractic.  Her education began at Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelors Kinesiology degree.  She went on to Northwestern Health Sciences University, in Bloomington, Minnesota, where she received her Doctorate degree in Chiropractic.  During her schooling, Dr. Lopez gained knowledge and certification in sports injuries, upper and lower extremity care, motion palpation, and extended knowledge on prenatal, and pediatric care.  She is also a Functional Health Chiropractor through the Institute of Functional Medicine (AFMCP, Immune APM).  Dr. Lopez graduated with a Sports Emphasis, but hopes to provide care to all individuals in the community.  She uses many techniques including MRT and IASTM, soft tissue therapy, manual adjusting, and rehabilitative exercise.  In order to provide Chiropractic care to the region, Dr. Lopez has committed to visiting the Nipigon Community on a weekly basis. Dr. Lopez looks forwards to providing multidisciplinary and patient care to those in Northwestern Ontario.

Michelle Boland

Registered Massage Therapist

Michelle Boland graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Sault College in 2002.  That same year she became registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.  She is also a long time member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario.  Michelle treats all ages, including infants and children.  She enjoys working on all conditions, whether it be an acute injury, a chronic condition, post surgery or a massage for overall health and well being. Over the years she has taken a number of courses to gain knowledge and techniques that she incorporates into her treatments as she feels fit.  Michelle loves her work and finds nothing more gratifying than to see the benefits of massage resolve an issue and her clients reach their goals, feel better and get back to activities of life.

When Michelle is not working she most often can be found spending time with her family.
